9th Annual Houston Area Run and Walk to Cure HD Scheduled for Oct. 16, 2010 - 8:30am - Oyster Creek Park in Sugarland, TX |
|
Whether you want to participate in the competitive 5K, take a family friendly stroll at your own pace through a spectacular, scenic park or if you have a kid that wants to have fun in a Kids K, the Run to Cure HD is the event for you.

The 9th Annual Run to Cure Huntington's Disease presented by HCSS is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2010.
This year we will be starting the competitive 5K and the family walk at 8:30am. The Kids K will start at 9:15am. All events are held in beautiful Oyster Creek Park in Sugarland, TX.
Always a spectacular event for people of all ages, the Run To Cure HD has become a "must run" event within the Houston area's elite running community by featuring a grand prize for the overall male and female winners. Once again this year we are excited to announce that the overall male and female champions will recieve an expense paid trip to the Carlsbad Marathon in sunny San Diego, CA. in January, 2011!
In addition to one of the Houston Area's most competitive 5Ks, the Run to Cure HD also is great for families with a non-competitive 5K run/walk, and the always popular Kids K.
When the running finishes, the party is just beginning. Runners that have participated in this race in previous years know that the HDSA Run to Cure HD features one of the best post race parties in America! With great food, cold drinks and the scenic beauty of Oyster Creek Park providing the venue, there is no place that you would rather be on October 16th!
Race registration will be available soon, but mark your calendars today! |
|
The 8th Annual Houston Area Run to Cure HD was a resounding success breaking records for both participation and for fund raising. With more than 400 total people in attendance, the race raised an astounding $100,000.00 which currently ranks the Houston area run the largest HDSA fundraising run/walk in the nation!
A special thank you goes out to everyone that worked so hard making this years event the best yet.
We look forward to seeing you next year!

Repost: 2008 Run To Cure HD 5K Results |
|
Several runners have inquired about last years race results. Below is an article that was posted following the 7th annual runtocureHD that listed all of the chip timed race results. Once again this year we expect to post results soon after the race!
The 7th Annual Houston Area RuntoCureHD was a resounding success raising more than $55,000 for Huntington's Disease research.
More than 300 runners turned out, showing the amazing resiliance of the Houston area. The race was originally scheduled for September 20th, and was rescheduled due to Hurricane Ike.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, runners, volunteers and the race planning committee. Today's event was fantastic, and will certainly help as we strive to make this the last generation with HD.
